On July 11th, 2000 Williwaw slipped her lines and we embarked on a summer long cruise. Starting in familiar territory, we sailed up the Wisconsin shore to Door County, before crossing to Frankfort Michigan and the LMCDOA Rendezvous. Following Rendezvous we continued north through the Straits of Mackinac, east to De Tour Passage then north to Thessalon Ontario, where after 37 days and 625 miles, we cleared into Canada, to begin a North Channel Cruise.
We spent 31 days in the North Channel, traveling 333 miles from Thessalon Ontario to The Pool and back to De Tour Village Michigan For anyone planning a cruise to the North Channel, we couldn't have done it without "The Ports Book", published by Overleafe Design Ltd., 94 Wheeler Ave., Toronto, Ontario, M4L 3V2. Also, Canadian charts are expensive, $20.00 whether you buy them in the states or Canada. With the exchange rate it is cheaper to buy in Canada.
